DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
I just noticed on my Wiliam Harris page that a match was offered. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I did not notice this.
My William Harris was born supposed 19 Jan 1822 but not sure where I got this date. I do know he was born in MS and married Susan Amanda Weeks. He is my dead in as he is in only one census and I've been researching so many lines that I get waylaid.
I know nothing about him. Michelle, another researcher, said he was the son of Martha Harris who was living in Angelina Co, TX in 1850 and it is possible. She had done a dna and had all these names and documentation. I like to check them out first.
It looks plausible, he is here in 1850, the eldest of many of a widow. Email me
