Biography

Her husband was once a sailing ship's boatswain.

According to her son Charlie's foster records, she lived at 53 Bridge rd, Glebe in 1918, then Denison st, Hornsby, then Tennyson ave, Turramurra from 1919.

It seems when she was in hospital having her son Reggie, her other children were picked up by the State and fostered out for about two weeks.[1]

Marriage

Married to William Morton on Christmas day at her father's house by a methodist minister (Flockart?). The witnesses are her father and sister Emily, and Charles Henry Watkins. Mother's maiden name is hard to make out (Caffto?)

Louisa filed for divorce in 1926, as William had left in '22. This was granted and made absolute in 1928,[2] at which point (now deaf) she already had a marriage proposal and promptly married William Thomas Josey.[3] Josey even wrote to the court to confirm the date so that they could marry as soon as possible.

The marriage certificate affixed to the divorce papers has a handwritten note on the back saying: Please let me have it back - L. Morton. Evidently they did not.

Feb 1828: 13 North Parade, Auburn
