Newsom is listed on the 1786 NC Early Census for Granville County.[5][6] By 1810, the Harris family had changed from Granville to Warren County.[7] (Further research would likely reveal whether this was a relocation or simply realignment of county lines.) In 1820, still in Warren County, Newsom had help to work his farm: two slaves and two free persons of color.[8]
Newsom passed away in 1829 in Warren County, North Carolina.[4][2]

This is part of my line of Harris. I own the house he was born and it still is occupied today! A beautiful "plantation house" and the land at the time of his birth included 3000 acres. I have read the handwritten documents of the time of survey of the land. I own the house and 50 acres around the house and family cementary.
