On November 4, 1828, Mary married George M. Ferrel in Vigo, Indiana.[1]
In 1830, Mary and her husband were living in Vigo, Indiana.[2]
Based upon the children's birthplaces listed on the 1850 census, it appears that sometime after 1836, the family moved to Missouri. I am still looking for the 1840 census. George does not show up on the 1850 census so I am assuming that he died either in Missouri or on the trip from Missouri to Iowa. I am still looking for a death record or grave to verify this. The 1850 census does not show marital status so I am not absolutely sure that George died, however Mary is head of household on the 1850 census.
In 1850, Mary was living with her children in Polk, Iowa[3]
In 1860, Mary was living with her children in Warren, Iowa.[4]
On October 18, 1861, Mary married John Handy in Warren, Iowa.[5]
In 1870, Mary was living with her youngest son Samuel and his family in Gentry County, Missouri.[6]
On July 14, 1880, Mary died in Warren County, Iowa. She was buried in the North River Cemetery.[7]
