Isaac Harris served with Brunswick County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.
Roll of Honor
Isaac Harris was Killed in Action during Foreman's Defeat during American Revolution.

Isaac Harris was born on 27 Nov 1729 in Meherrin Parish, Brunswick, Virginia, British Colonial America. He was a Revolutionary War Veteran who died during Foreman's Defeat. His residence was in Brunswick County, Virginia, at that time. His children, "John Harris, Wooten Harris, Benjamin Harris, Elizabeth Harris, and Mary Harris, orphans of Isaac Harris, dec'd," were ordered by the court to "be bound out by the church warden of Meherrin Parish according to law." From this record and the letter to William J. Harris, dated April 22, 1858, we know the names of eight of their children. That the family lived in Brunswick County, Virginia is given in both Wooten's and Benjamin's pension records. [1]

Isaac was killed in action on 27 Sep 1777 in Brunswick, Brunswick, Virginia, British Colonial America during what came to be known as Foreman's Defeat.[3] This battle took place on the Ohio river, at a place named McMechen Narrows (in Marshall County, Virginia, now West Virginia).

There is a monument stone at Mount Rose Cem. in Moundsville, WV. to honor the victims of the Foreman Massacre. Men that were Killed Capt. William Forman, Abraham Powell, James Green, Samuel Loury, John Wilson, Samuel Johnson, Henry Riser, Edward Petersom, Bartholomew Viney, Benjamin Powell, Anthony Miller, Hambleton Foreman, John Vincent, Jacob Pew, Solomon Jones, Isaac Harris, William Ingle, Robert McGrew, Nathan Foreman, Elixha Shivers.[4]

I think this profile might be confabulated, or alternatively connected to the incorrect wife IF this is a duplicate of Harris-9183 whose wife and parents are unknown.

Eric,

There was a merge and I need help fixing the relationships. We know there is no info on his parents or wife unless you dig up something never before seen.

Some of these kids look like duplicates attached to the wrong mother although at first it looked like two separate lines mixed together.

Records would help. Can you please help straighten this out and then we will protect it with the project the way we did the other Harris lines.

Hi Paula the link is fine this is another wonderful profile by you have you thought about joining our new Roll of Honor Project i agree about GEDCOMs i am not a big fan and its great you clean up the bios and find the people ;)
