Biography

John was born about 1800. John Harrison ... [1]1st wife Electa died at 24 yrs with no issue. 2nd wife Abigail? had four children. 3rd wife Dorothy Spaulding had one daughter, Izetta. excerpt from History of Wayne Co. NY 1789 to 1869---John Harrison was a carpenter and worked for George Easterly in the reaper shops. He died in Whitewater. His first wife Electa died in New York. He married (Abigail??) in New York state and their children were Diantha (Mrs. John Lewis); Electa (Mrs. George McCart); Ruth (Mrs. George Annis) who went to Kansas: and John Wesley Harrison who married Sarah Bolser. There was also Isaac and Olive. He married Dorothy Spaulding and together they had a daughter Izetta. I believe Dorothy came into the family with Isaac and Olive from an earlier relationship.

Sources

I found the will of John's 3rd wife, Dorathy J. Harrison which shows she died in 1868 in Walworth County. This will can be viewed on Ancestry. It specifically lists her husband John and her daughter, Izetta in the will so I'm pretty sure this is the correct wife. It states in the will that she is transferring property to Izetta and some property to John so he might have those resources "for the rest of his natural life". That means John was still alive in 1868 when Dorathy died - thus my e-mail to you because I see you have an 1863 death date listed but Dorathy's will shows he was still alive in 1868 in Whitewater, Walworth County, Wisconsin.

The American Biographical Index (which I haven't been able to figure out how to find people in) lists Dorathy's maiden name as Jones. She may have been married to a Spaulding prior to her marriage to John Harrison - I didn't search that far.

I just wanted you to know what I found so you can do more research on your family with some of the information I found. I am not related, someone sent me a edit request on Find A Grave, asking me to link Dorothy Jane Spaulding Harrison who died in 1916 to her daughter, Izetta. After finding the will for Dorathy, this isn't possible for this to be her mother (of Izetta) and I declined the edit.
