Biography

He was born on 27 Oct1687[1] in Nanjemy, son of Richard and Jane Harrison.

On 14 Nov 1717, he acquired two tracts, "Conveniency" and "Britts Adventure" on the Nanjemy River[2].

He married Virlinda Stone, together they sold tract "Tabitha's Lot" in Nanjemy Parish on 11 Aug 1724[3]. On Dec 10, 1723, he received from his parents-in-law a tract "Virlinda's" on Burditts Creek in Nanjemy[4].

His three surviving children are mentioned in his 1727 Will:

On Aug 14, 1724, he received tract "Cowspring" on the Potomack river from Michael Shackalet (Shalalet) and wife once part of the Robert Downs estate[6]. A few days before, he sold Michael Shacklett two tracts, "Cowspring " and "Tabithas lot"[7].

On Jan 6, 1724, he received another tract 300acres called "Wattsons Purchase" on the Potomack[8].

On Nov 15, 1724, he received 42 acres of "Britts Adventure" on the "Great Damm Creek" in Nanjemy Parish[9].

He died on 5 Jul 1727 with his mother, Jane Evans still living[10] leaving a Will dated 24 Dec 1726 (Probated 5 May 1727)[11].

His estate was appraised on Aug 5 1727[12] and his admin acct on Sep 18 1728[13].

Following his death, his son, Joseph in Apr 1729 received a lease on "Little Lunin" from Zachary Wade[14].

To have and to hold, the sd parcel of land with liberty of cutting timber for the use of the plantation, not making any waste, and liberty of ___ whole tract for building and repairing of houses, to him, sd Harrison, for the full term of 18 years.
