  • Source: S237 Text: Newspaper Text: Mrs. William Urban obituary Text: The Pemberville Leader Text: Pemberville, Ohio Text: 1 March 1928 Text: p 7, col 3 Text: Death of Mrs. Wm. Urban CONT CONT The funeral of Mrs. William Urban was held from the Methodist Church on last Sunday afternoon at 1:15 o’clock, and was largely attended. The pastor occupied the pulpit. Vocal music was furnished by the mixed choir. The body was taken to Findlay for burial. CONT CONT Mrs. Urban died at her home on Bridge St. after a long and painful illness, following a stroke on May 1, 1927. Her age was 51 years 9 months and 17 days. CONT CONT OBITUARY CONT CONT Myrtle Harrison Urban was born near Belmont, Belmont-co, Ohio, on May 6 1876. She was one of the ten children of Jeremiah and Rebecca Harrison. CONT CONT About the year 1888, the Harrison family moved to Findlay, where, on Dec. 24, 1891, this daughter was united in marriage with William Urban. She was the mother of six children. After residing in different communities, they moved to Pemberville about 5 1/2 years ago. CONT CONT Mrs. Urban had a cheerful disposition, which caused her to see the bright side of life. Her hands were willing hands, and many is the neighbor who, in time of sickness or need, found Mrs. Urban at their side with a helping hand. Her friends are legion. Sincer her stroke of paralysis on May 1, 1927, she was confined to her home. Thru the long months of suffering, she patiently and with a quiet faith waited for the coming of the Angel of the Lord. Mrs. Urban was a devoted wife and mother. CONT CONT Thirty-two years ago, Mrs. Urban joined the Church of God. As she moved from community to community, her church letter went with her. Her membership in the church was an active membership, as long as she had health and strength. On different occasions and in different places, she had been president of the W. C. T. U., the Ladies’ Aid Society, the W. F. M. S. and was frequently in charge of a Sunday school class. CONT CONT Prayer was spontaneous with her at all times. Several years ago, when the doctor thought she had but a single hour to live, her prayer was that she might live to see her children established in their own homes. Her prayer was answered. CONT CONT She is survived by her husband, William Urban; a sister, Mrs. E. P. Gerard, of Belmont, Ohio; two brothers, J. H. Harrison, of Pittsburgh, and F. T. Harrison, of Pottsville, Pa.; and five children, Mrs. Florence Eidson and Mrs. Lesta Long, of Pemberville; Mrs. Martha Dimick, of Bowling Green; Walter Urban, of Fostoria, and Rex Urban, of North Baltimore. Nine grandchildren also survive. CONT CONT Card of Thanks CONT CONT We graciously return our heartfelt thanks to our many kind friends and neighbors for valuable help and tender sympathy in the death of our dear wife and mother. We would especially remember the minister for his consoling words, the singers, the donors of the many beautiful flowers, and those who furnished autos. May God’s choicest blessings rest upon you all. Wm. Urban and Family.
