It all becomes much easier as you become more familiar with it. There are many features that can be used later, but don't let any of that get in the way. It can do all kinds of super simple things too... and anywhere in between.
Searching for people can be done several ways. One of the easiest is the little search boxes at the very top of the WikiTree profile screens like here on your profile. I typed Obryan in the last name box then clicked the little magnifying-glass symbol and it brought me to a list of the Obryan profiles on WikiTree:
http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/obryan
They can then be sorted by name or birth date. I'd also try O_Bryan as there are more of those.
You can do this to search for Martz as well.
