Biography

Sherman Hart, the son of Chauncey Hart and Lydia Hoadley Bray, was born December 14, 1791. He fought in the army in the War of 1812. On March 3, 1819 he married Elizabeth Smith, the daughter of Gideon Smith and Lois Barnes. Sherman and Elizabeth had 8 children: Elizabeth, unnamed child, James, Lois, Frederic, George, John, and Harriet. Sherman moved to Berlin, Worthington Parish, where he died in 1846 at the age of 54.^[1]
