Pvt. Asher R. Hart, son of Richard Hart and Margaret Snowden Hart, was born in 1760 in Hopewell, Hunterdon, New Jersey.[1][2] He married [[Abigail Hunt,[3] daughter of Samuel and Sarah Hunt. They had 3 daughters: Abigail, Rebecca, and Margaret. His wife died in 1820, two years later on October 10, 1822, he married Sarah Temple.[4]
Hart fought in the Revolutionary War as a private in Capt. John Hunt's Company of the Hunterdon County Militia[1] which was called into service a number of times between 1777 and 1781.[5]
He wrote his will on May 15, 1843, in Hopewell, Mercer, New Jersey. He mentions his wife, Sarah, and names his three daughters Abigail Hart Williamson, Rebecca and Margaret Hart, as executors.[6]
He died in Hopewell on 19 Sep 1846 and was buried in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.[1]
