Biography

Daniel Harvey Hart was born on April 21, 1844, in Sullivan, Indiana, his father, Daniel, was 47 and his mother, Sarah, was 32. He married Sarah Frances Howell on July 15, 1863, in Sullivan, Indiana. They had six children in 13 years. He died on July 12, 1914, in Carlisle, Indiana, at the age of 70.

Daniel was living in Haddon Township, Sullivan County, Indiana at the time of the 1850 Census. He was living with his parents (Daniel & Sarah) and was about 3 years old.

During the 1870 Census, Daniel was living in Haddon Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. He was living next door to his parents (Daniel & Sarah). He was living with his wife, Sarah, and had 3 children living with them in the home (ranging from age 5 - 10 months). Daniel was a farm laborer at this time.

Daniel was still living in Haddon Township, Sullivan County, Indiana at the time of the 1880 Census. He was living with his wife, Sarah, and had 6 children living in the home. Daniel was a farmer during this time as well.

At the time of the 1900 Census, Daniel & Sarah were living in Haddon Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. Daniel's occupation was a teamster. It was notated that there were 6 children, but 3 living. Amelia was also living with them.

Daniel and his wife Sarah were living at 949 Mulberry Street, Riverside Ward 3, Riverside County, California at the time of the 1910 Census. It is notated in this census that there a total of 6 children, but only 3 were living. They were living with a daughter, Amelia Alexander. Daniel nor Sarah had an occupation at this time (both were about 65 years old).
