"My father, Dennis Dale, and mother, Leona Irene, both were born in San Saba, Tx. Dad died of a ruptured appendix in July, l933 and mom died in August, of l947. We were living in Eden, Tx. when my father had an appendicitis attack. He was taken to the hospital in Brady. The doctors operated and found the appendix had already ruptured and they closed him up and left him to die. He lived for five days. They said there was nothing they could do. This was before the days of antibiotics. He left a mother with three children and we returned to San Saba."[1]
