30 Oct 1962 Frank was the Field Deputy US Marshall on special assignment to the University of Mississippi was injured while escorting James Meredith. He was riding in the Justice Department automobile with Jame Meredith when solid glass soda bottle and firecrackers were thrown at his vehicle. The students didn't appreciate the presence of James Meredith on campus. During this time he was sent numerous hateful letters threatening his life for being a "Nebraska N____ Lover". I'm proud of my father-in-law for doing his job protecting James Meredith even though people hated him for it. Gerard-337 16:52, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
