Hartley, John - 1796-1866, A son of Thomas Hartley.
He sailed on the "Albury" on 13 February 1820 with Calton's Party.
Listed as a son on the death notice of Thomas Hartley Snr.
In 1846 he was elected a Municipal Commissioner for Grahamstown.
He composed the "Trials and Troubles of the Settlers" in verse.
