In 1871 Jane was 8 , a scholar living with her widowed mother Jane 37and siblings Mary 12, Ruth10 and Isaac7 in Drigg & Carleton, Cumberland, England ^[1]

In 1881 she was living with her mother Jane 47, and is 18, single, a dressmaker in Amethyst Green , Drigg, Cumberland, England ^[2]
