Wilhelm Frederick Von Hartmann came from Germany. He first lived in Wheeling, Va, moved to Washington County, Ohio, and then to Clark County Illinois. He married Mary Ann Grace Kraemer in Wheeling October 9, 1854. He changed his name to William F. Hartman before moving to Illinois.
