Died in Civil War (CSA)

Houston H. Hartsell fought at the siege of Fort Fisher and died in January 1865 near Wilmington, NC while Fort Fisher was under attack. Houston was reportedly buried in an unmarked grave at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington.* (*copied from his wife's memorial page).

Enlisted in Company H, 42nd Infantry Regiment North Carolina. Enlisted as a Private on 8 October 1863. Died of disease Company H, 42nd Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 23 Jan 1865 at Hospital, Wilmington, NC
