DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with William or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • William Harvey: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup E-FT86986, FTDNA kit #19310 + Y-Chromosome Test 838 markers, haplogroup E-FT86986, MitoYDNA ID T13717 [compare]

Hello William,

During the winter, the Nordic Project performed check-ins, sent as a private message from your profile. You are one of those members who has not replied, and this is a last chance to get in touch and let me know if you like to continue as member in the Nordic Project.

Please answer this comment, and get in touch by sending me a private message. If we have not heard from you within a month you will be removed from the Nordic google group and your badge will be removed.

If you have not received any check-in emails, you might want to check that your email adress for WikiTree is one you actually still use.

Thank you!

Missy Berryann Co-Leader, Nordic Project

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

I removed the Confirmed with DNA flag on the father on William Harvey of Taunton. Please see these WikiTree help pages regarding using that designator: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Confirmed_with_DNA, Help:DNA_Confirmation

Hello,

Working on this issue now as we have important Y-DNA info to add to this situation. Please review and let me know if this corrects the issue for you? I'll be making major corrections/additions to many of William's male descendants as the days/weeks go by. Bill Harvey

I am moving the DNA section down again, per WikiTree's styleguide regarding order of headings: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Biographies#Proper_order. It can be considered an additional subsection. You might also want to see this G2G post about creating a source citation with the information: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1210942/new-app-dna-confirmation-citation-maker?show=1210942#q1210942

I would ask that you not do this just yet. In my opinion the discrepancy of the Y-DNA results of the two thought to be brothers should be placed in the most obvious viewing position. This will affect hundreds if not thousands of genealogies worldwide.

Thank you for your interest in Medad Harvey of Montegue, Mass and Fort Ann New York, and his son David. I have a strong interest in the Harvey line (from Thomas Harvey, thru Medad Harveys, Leonard Harvey, James Hawley Harvey, Roy Mc Cullum Harvey, Mildred Harvey (my mother).

I am trying to validate Colonial Militia service by Medad Harvey Sr. He became Captain 1788 of a local Militia. This was only 5 yrs after the end of the Revolution. Medad and his family were also in the Fort Anne area of New York, during the Revolution. His son Medad and Anar Buell Harvey also settled on a veterans land allotment 1801. Circumstantial evidence indicates that Medad Harvey b. March 30, 1739 participated in the Revolution. Do you have any info?

I have a tendency to go with CLOYES except where I have evidence that the line consistently used CLOYS; I suspect that CLAYS or CLAYES are mis-reading handwriting where the writer made lower-case O look like an A...

I have a LOT of information on the OLIVER / CLOYES / HARPOLE / BONDURANT / ASBELL / NAYLOR lines, as well as other associated families. They intermarried over several generations that flirted with, but never quite managed to be incest. My father was born in Union City, and his ancestors had been there a while.

I would love to work with you on the Asbills when the merge goes through. I haven't done any research on that line in a while, so I am interested in what your research shows.
