Biography

"1685 Josiah Haskall ye son of John Haskall was borne ye 18th June 1686" at Middleborough, Plymouth Colony.[1][2][3]

Josiah married first to Sarah Canady at Middleborough on 26 March 1718, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Cannady.[4][5]

He married his second wife, Sarah Brayley at Middleborough on 27 March 1729.[6][5]

Josiah and his first wife Sarah had at least the following children recorded at Middleborough:[7][5]

  • Benjamin Haskell, b. 8 March 1718/19. His inventory was taken on 8 October 1778 in Middleborough.[8]
  • Betty Haskell, b. 22 June 1720
  • Noah Haskell, b. Nov 1721
  • Patience Haskell, b. 25 Aug 1724
  • Hannah Haskell, b. 6 June 1726

Josiah and his second wife Sarah had:[5]

At a town meeting in MIddleborough, 3 Mar 1734/35, Josiah's son, Noah, is of the town poor and his care is chargeable to said town. [10]

Josiah had a last child in 1745, so would not have died more than 9 months prior to that. There is no evidence that he lived in Freetown, Bristol County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[5]
