Biography

Samuel Hubbard Haskell was born at Gloucester, Esssx, Massachusetts on 27 Nov 1774 and baptized there the same day. He was the son of Nathan Haskell and Judith Witham.[1]

He removed to that part of the Pejepscot Claim in Maine which in 1802 became Danville, Cumberland, Massachusetts. That part of Massachusetts became Maine in 1820; that part of Cumberland County became Androscoggin County in 1854; and the town of Danville was annexed to Auburn in 1867.

He married at Pejepscot Claim on 15 Oct 1801 to Lydia Chase of Newburyport. They had eleven children recorded in the Old Danville records (see attached image).[2]
