In 1787, his friends and neighbors petitioned the probate court to appoint a guardian to his estate as he was not able to care for himself, his family, or his estate.[1]
Earl Clap, Esqr, of Rochester, was appointed guardian of his estate as he was deemed incapable of caring for himself or his estate.[2]
