Research Notes

Received database error that birth name of "Polly" was an error. Have changed first name to Mary and moved "Polly" to nickname field. bhenry 08/03/2016

Received database error that death of Mary (1801 month, day unknown) is before birth of Rhoda Ames who is born on August 21, 1801.

Ann Theopold Chaplin, Descendants of William Ames of Braintree, Ma, Newbury Street Press, 2004, pgs.120, 121.

"Henry married first, probably in Shaftsbury, Vermont, Polly Hoskins daughter of Anthony and Rhoda (Goodrich) Hoskins. She was born, probably in Shaftsbury, 30 March 1773, and died likely 1801, either during childbirth or shortly thereafter. Henry then married..." This would mean there was no database error.

From all my other research I believe the children born before 1771 were born in Colonial New Hampshire and after 1771 and before 1791 in the Vermont Republic
