Biography

Ichabod was born Falmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay 21 Oct 1691, son of Joseph Hatch and Amy Allen.[1]

Ichabod Hatch and Abigail/Abegail Weeks were married on September 2, 1714 in Chilmark, Dukes County, Massachusetts.[2]

They had the first four children in Falmouth and then moved to Tolland, Connecticut about 1723 where the other children were born: Zerviah, Joseph, Judah, Justice, Abigail, David, Ruth, and Ichabod.

"Ichabod's will was written calling him of Falmouth and was proved at Barnstable County. It is conceivable he died during an extensive visit to Falmouth. The will of Ichabod Hatch, miller of Falmouth, dated 27 February and probated 23 May 1754, left to wife Abigail use of the best room in my dwelling house which is in Tolland, Conn.; to son David, named executor, one half the farm or homestead in Tolland, Conn.; also names sons Joseph, Judah, Justus and Ichabod; and daughters Zerviah, Abigail and Ruth. On 6 January 1756 bond was posted on Joseph Hatch Jr. of Tolland as administrator of the estate of Ichabod Hatch deceased, with Lewis Terrill of Coventry as surety. [ This implies that David has died or moved away.]"[3]
