Biography
P.O. was born in 1893. His parents were driving from Lampasas County to her mother's house in Palo Pinto County, and he went through Cisco to see the damage caused by a tornado. They didn't get to their destination before their first baby was born. That is why he was born in Eliasville. Pearl Hatley ... He passed away in 1987. [1]
P. O. Hatley age 36 is found in the 1930 US Census in Ranger City, Eastland Co. TX Justice Precinct 2, Sheet 2A on April 3, 1930. Living in the same household are wife Youree age 28, daughter Francine age 5, and sister Thyrza age 21. He owns the property valued at $3000. He was 28 and Youree was 20 when they were originally married. Both are able to read and write English, both were born in Texas, and all 4 of their parents were born in Texas. He is the Principal of a public school, Youree is not employed, and Thyrza is a saleslady in a retail variety store. P. O. is a veteran of the World War.
PEARL OTTO HATLEY, SR. was principal at Hodges Oak Park Elementary School in the mid-30's & was Ranger High School principal in 1941 at Ranger, TX. He was Rusk High School principal in the late 1940's, and then became the principal of Ozona High School in the early 50s before retiring and returning to Rusk. He married Youree Cereta Long & they had three children, two daughters, Martha Francine Hatley McCauley (Ranger HS-1940), & Laura Jane Hatley Rogers and her husband Thomas Ralph Rogers of Georgetown and one son, P.O. Hatley Jr. & his wife Mary Faith Hatley of Longview. Laura and P.O. Jr. were both born in Ranger.
