Julia Therese Salome (Hauke) von Battenberg was born on 12 Nov 1825 in Warsaw, Poland, daughter of Graf Hans Moritz Hauke (1775 - 1830) and Sophie (LaFontaine) Hauke (1790 - 1831).
Her sister was Emilie Viktoria Johanna Hauke (1821 - 1890).
Julia (25) married Alexander Ludwig Georg Friedrich Emil Hessen und bei Rhein (28) (1823 - 1888) on 28 Oct 1851 in Breslau, Poland.
She was created Countess of Battenberg (1851) then Princess of Battenberg (1858) by her husband's brother, Grand Duke Louis III of Hesse.
Julia died on 19 Sep 1895 in Schloß Heiligenberg, Seeheim-Jugenheim, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hessen, Germany aged 69.
