Biography

Jacob Haun was born in Woodstock, Virginia on December 21, 1800. He was the son of Henry Haun and Mary Rife.

Jacob married Catherine Kibler. The couple are listed together on: the 1850 Census[1] the 1860 Census[2] and the 1870 Census[3]

The census records indicate that Jacob and Catherine had at least seven children:

  • 1. Mary Ann Haun (1821–1891)
  • 2. Catherine (Haun) Mowery (1822–1915)[4]
  • 3. Henry H Haun (1823–1908)[5]
  • 4. Lydia Haun (1828–1906)
  • 5. Jacob Haun Jr. (1830–1891)
  • 6. Sarah Ellen (Haun) Hookman/Hackman (1834–1863)[6][7]
  • 7. Susan (Haun) Sheetz (1834–1920)[8]

Jacob died in Woodstock on October 21, 1871, and was buried in Haun-Carryer Cemetery, Calvary, Virginia.[9]
