Sarah was born to Thomas and Jane Clement Haviland, in Rye, on 7 February 1734.
Peter Cornell married Sarah Haviland in Scarsdale on 3 May 1751
The couple resided on Quaker Ridge, with his three brothers and the other Quaker families of Scarsdale: Griffen, Barker, Gedney, Fowler, Townsend, Carpenter.
