The Coles family are so closely allied to the Carpenter family that a few lines concerning them will not be amiss. Robert Coles came from England in the fleet with Governor Winthrop, 1630 (to Roxbury or Ipswich).... His wife was Mary Hawkhurst. He died previous to October 18, 1654, when his property was distributed by the town, "the same as it should have been had he left a will." His widow married Matthias Harvey and removed to Oyster Bay. The children of Robert Coles were John, Daniel, Nathaniel, Robert, Ann and Elizabeth.

Hauxhurst-13 and Hawkhurst-4 appear to represent the same person because: The same person with a differently spelled surname. Both married to Robert Coles.

I detached children John, Deliverance, and Ann as they were children of Robert Coles 1st wife Mary Unknown-470304.

The children who are left with Mary Hawkhurst-4 are correct according to Anderson's GMB EXCEPT not Elizabeth. She is attached here twice, and DOES NOT BELONG, according to GMB.

Internet search: Nassau county wasn't created until 1899, prior to that it was Queens County. Province of New York from 1626 - 1776.

With this in mind, I suggest the death place in data section should be Oyster Bay, Queens County, Province of New York. If agreed, please make this change. thanks.

Dates need checked, death is before birth of child.
