Sorting proper profiles for the Hawkins, Whipple, Putnam and other allied immigrant families, is very difficult, made so by the poorly constructed early records indexed by sites like ancestry.com, these index are filled with errors in name variations, birth and baptism dates not well recorded, and failure to extend family generations when those records prove their lineage. Finding the primary record of these immigrants will unlock the choke hold made by transcribers. My husband and I transferred to New Hampshire, New York where many descendants of these names did live and raise families. To share Eugene Angel, William Stearns, William Whipple, Francis Peabody, Wendell Putnam, John Hawkins, Root, and so many others who descend from these New England immigrants 1620-1640 (read James Savage 1783-1873, "Gleanings for New England History", 120 pages; descent from Thomas Savage 1607-1682. Read James Camden Hotten 1832-1873, English writer on biographical and historical subjects. Read Samuel Gardiner Drake 798-1875, Author and Historian, reprint NEHGS. Read Charles E. Banks, author Planters of the commonwealth and the ships that brought them 1620-1640, Riverside press 1930, Banks a member of Massachusetts Historical Society, and American Antiquarian Society. Then repair any issues with R.C. Anderson's "The Great Migration" (in copyright). Many of these descendants worked under my husband's supervision, and he has to report the fine character of each who performed their duties very well done.
