Elizabeth Janet "Bettie" Hawkins was born on Nov 13,1857[1] in Page co., Virginia. she was the daughter of John Waller Hawkins and Frances Jane (Miller) Hawkins. At age 13, she was in her parent's home in Robertson, Madison co., virginia, along with 8 of her siblings.[2]
Elizabeth Married John Fielding Mitchell on December 14, 1876 in Madison, Virginia.[3] They had six children.
John was a Farmer on the 1880[4] & 1900 Census,[3] and a Rual Mail carrier on the 1910 Census.[5] And 1920 Census in Catalpa, Culpeper, Virginia.[6]
She passed away at the age of 65, on October 1, 1923 in Madison, Madison Co., Virginia and was buried in the Hebron Lutheran Church Cemetery.[1]
