Biography
James was born on 18 January 1848 in Abbeville, South Carolina, USA. He was the son of Andrew Cowan Hawthorn and Mary (Barmore) Hawthorn.
When James was 34 he married Rosella E. in about October 1882 in Abbeville, South Carolina, USA. The couple had 4 children: Cora A. Hawthorne, Rosella (Rosa) Johnson Hawthorne, Annie J. Hawthorne and Florence Hawthorne.
James died at the age of about 76 in 1925.
James was buried after 1925 in Calhoun Falls, Abbeville, South Carolina, USA.
