A previous version of this profile attached him as son of Nathaniel Hayes, without source. But this was Samuel's brother, not father. See below.
Another previous version of this profile claimed, without source, that Samuel's mother was Ruth who was baptized at Tenterden, Kent England on March 11, 1626, the daughter of John Stanley. She, too was too young to be his mother.
Jacobus calls him brother of the Nathaniel Hayes who married Mary, daughter of Thomas Kimberly, and that they were both sons of the first wife of Nathaniel Richards of Norwalk because a) Samuel calls Richard "father" and b) Richards left Samuel a legacyin his will.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
His father appears incorrect - was only 11 years old when he was born, and his nearest sibling is 14 years younger. It looks like he may be attached to the wrong parents
Hayes-492 and Hayes-194 appear to represent the same person because: Cheryl, The data on 194 appears more correct; there's no evidence of the marriage to Lydia Kilbourne (who should be detached); the narrative of 492 matches the data in 194.
