Biography
Eva and Alphonzo's first child. No first name is given on the birth record.[1]
In 1910, Ralph E. Hayes (age 9 with est. birthdate of 1901) is living with his grandmother, Laura Caswell, and aunt, Maud Caswell, in Farmington, New Hampshire. Given the birthdate on the birth record mentioned above, I have to assume that this is the correct child and that the birth record incorrectly indicates a female child.[2]
Ralph's mother died in 1905, which may explain why he is living with his grandmother; however, there is no indication of where his sister Laura is living. She is one year younger than Ralph.[2]
In 1912, Ralph is registered for the World War I Draft. His draft card describes him as medium height with a slender build, blue eyes and brown hair. He is working as a "brush maker" for the F. W. Browne Co. in Farmington New Hampshire.[3]
In 1920, Ralph is living with his Aunt Maud in Farmington, New Hampshire,[4]
In 1930, Ralph is a boarder in the Cronk household in Farmington, New Hampshire,[5]
