Recalled by Bathurstians, Orange Mrs Ann Hemsworth,for 64 years a resident of Bathurst and for the last 6 years a resident of Orange, died today at the residence of her daughter Mrs Masterson. Age 72.She was the daughter of Mr James Hayes,owner of a butchery buisness in William Street,Bathurst. Mr Hayes built the the hotel kept by the deceased grandmother,Mrs Dunsmore at the time of Ben Hall. On one occasion the notorious bush ranger was having dinner,when Mrs Hemsworth came in from the country,she immediately recognised Ben Hall,who on discovering this fact he mounted his horse and rode away with his gang. She leaves a family of 6 sons & 2 daughters James of Newcastle- Robert of Bathurst- Edward of Geralderie - William Of Bourke - Theodore Of Sydney- Albert - Condobolin - Miss Elsie - Mrs J Masterson The maiden sister of the deceased is at present in Orange in a critical state.
