Francis William Hearne was born on 17 Jul 1914 in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia as the second child of Edwin Hearne and Annie Irene Bower. He had four siblings, namely: Robert Edwin, Arthur Lancelot, Leslie Gordon, and Lawrence Darrell. He died on 30 Jun 1994 in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 28, he married Eva Jane Thompson, daughter of Oscar John Thompson and Eva Jane Jurd, on 12 Sep 1942 in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.
