John married Hannah Haines in Haverhill on December 16, 1697.[2] John and Hannah had the following children, all of whom were born in Haverhill except for Robert:
Joseph, b. December 9, 1718 in Norwich, Connecticut[4]
According to Lincoln's A Modern History of Windam County Connecticut, John and Hannah Heath were early settlers of Norwich, Connecticut.[5] They appear to have visited Norwich at least once before settling there, as Josiah was baptized in Norwich on October 4, 1715,[6] while Hannah's birth is recorded in Haverhill the following year.
By 1718, John and his family may have moved to Norwich permanently, as daughter Hannah was baptized there on November 23, 1718[6] and son Joseph was born there on December 9, 1718.
