Almina (Elmina) K. Helcel (Helcell) Kelley
Almina is the wife of O.Jack Kelley (b.April 29, 1895). Two children: Patsy Ann Moody (born December 1, 1942 Dallas and Wanda Lee Moody Kelley born in 1936 Birth: Jun. 6, 1896 Oklahoma, USA Death: May 30, 1991
In 1900, she was living with her parents and brother on a farm they owned in Canadian, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). The household included: Dugher Helcel, born October 1860 in Pennsylvania, a farmer, married 19 years; Luella P., born July 1865 in Kansas, married 19 years, two children; Willie, born June 1889 in Kansas; and Elmina, born June 1896 in Kansas.
In 1910, she was living with her parents on their farm in Canadian, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). Her mother, Luella, was listed as 1/4 Pottawatomie Indian, age 44, born in Kansas to a white father from Kansas and a Pottawatomie mother from Wisconsin, married once for 30 years, two living children of four born. Her father, Steven, was listed as white, age 49, married once for 30 years, born in Pennsylvania of Pennsylvania parents. Minie was listed as age 13, Indian, born in Oklahoma. Her brother William, his wife and children were living on a farm next to them.
She married Oda Jackson Kelley in 1914 and had at least seven children, including: Jason, Hester, Odie Janiece, Ima, Billy, Jessie, and Wyman.
In 1920, they were living on a farm they were renting in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). The household included: Jack Kelley, age 26, born in Missouri; Almina, age 23, born in Oklahoma; Jason, age 5, born in Oklahoma; Hester, age 4, born in Oklahoma; Janiece, age 1, born in Oklahoma; and Ima, age 5/12, born in Oklahoma.
In 1930, they were still living on a farm in Lexington. The record states that O. J. married at age 20 and Almina married at age 17. They had added three children to their household: Billy, age 6; Jessie, age 3; and Wyman, age 0/12.
