Biography

Ludwig Heller was a Pennsylvanian.

Note: Ludwig is listed in an article from the 5th Reunion of the Heller Family Assn. (Held at Island Park, Easton, Pa, August 29, 1908) as the 5th son of Christopher Heller. He arrived on the Eastern Branch on Oct. 3, 1753.

The Other Sons (excerpt)

Ludwig the fifth son of Christopher was a passenger on the ship Eastern Branch October 3 I753 There is recorded a land survey in his name dated September 11 1751 of 25 acres. This shows an application for the land almost two years prior to his arrival. Evidently his father and brothers prepared a home for him in advance. Of Ludwig we know but little. He also did service for the Durham furnace and afterwards was found in Bucks county later in Hamilton township now Monroe county where he died in I807 and is buried at Hamilton church.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ludwig by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ludwig:

I have a paper from the Fifth Reunion of the Heller Family Association at Island Park, Easton, Pa, August 29, 1908. It lists Ludwig as Christopher's 5th son. Christopher and son, Simon, arrived in the US on Winter Galley 9-5-1738. Ludwig arrived on Eastern Branch 9-11-1753.It was common at that time to go by middle names: Johann CHRISTOPH Heller, Johann SIMON Heller,Johann LUDWIG Heller. Ludwig had a son Peter 1714-1856. Ludwig died 1807 in Monroe Co, PA
