Biography

Grace Hemperly was enumerated as daughter of the head of household at Sand Street, Leesville, Vernon Parish, Louisiana for the January 30, United States Census, 1920. She was noted as born 1908 in Arkansas and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head C M Hemperly, wife Margaret Hemperly, son Acy Hemperly, son Lacy Hemperly, son Ennis Hemperly, son Mercer Hemperly, daughter Laurie Hemperly and daughter Margerit Hemperly.^[1]

L L Johnston (Mrs.) died September 24, 1937 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Her father was listed as C M Hemperley, her mother Margerete Hughes and her husband Lester L Johnston.^[2]
