Sources: The will of Peter Hendershot names Peter Dennis as his nephew. Peter Hendershot's wife was the sister of Barbary (Lantz) Dennis and Barbary was the sister of Sophia Lantz (the wife of Peter Hendershot). This would make Peter Dennis his nephew via his wife.

I have not seen the book "Hendershot Ancestors" by William E Hendershot, but someone once sent me information from page 266. I am not sure if this is paraphrased or not as I cannot access a copy of the book myself Peter Hendershot (son of Jacob) B 7 Nov 1770 in Newton Twp, Sussex Co became a wealthy farmer. Owned 205 acres, 90 acres and 5 acres. Became an elder in the Presbyterian church. (The Lutheran church became Presbyterian later in Sussex Co). Died 16 Jun 1837. His will leaves his homestead to his nephew, Peter Dennis. He names other relatives, but has no children of his own. His first wife was Ann Mellick b 1774, Sussex Co, daughter of Christian and Ann (Pickle) Mellick. His 2nd wife Sophia Elizabeth Lantz b 4 June 1774, Sussex Co (daughter of Jacob b 1745)

I can't find anything but a compiled unsourced history that has Peter Hendershot married to a Sophia Brewer - ie) I can't find any wills or records that are original sources. I have found no evidence that he ever had any children. Not one is named in his will.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
