Edith Henderson's parents were Joseph Marvin Henderson and Cynthia Ann "Carrie" Ellis. A certified document was issued by State of Missouri, "'School Record of Age'" Central School, Hannibal, MO., Date: 26 Apr 1948. Edith attended 9th Grade. [1].
Edith was the eldest of four daughters. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star since 1919, in Hannibal, MO., for 60+ years. [2]
1916 Aug 16 Edith Henderson married John Robert "Jack" McDonald, in Hannibal. Marriage was certified by the State of Missouri, in the county of Marion. Witnessed by J.M. Henderson and M.A. Stephens before Justice of the Peace. Personal copy (original) in the files of John R. "Jack" McDonald. [3]
She and Jack had only one child John Richard McDonald. After the death of Jack, in 1950, she took up catering for local families & friends and was a babysitter for several years, for the family of Dr. Foreman. She loved to travel, even into her late 80's. Jack wouldn't drive a car, so Edith drove all over the US for vacations. [4]
