Hello, I am glenda gustin and I have an ancestor John A Henderson. I've checked some DNA matches , and there are none to suggest we actually share an ancestor any time in the last ten generations. I believe the 'second wife' spoken of is actually the first wife of a totally different John Henderson. I would like to have been related to this second family, but we don't get to pick our ancestors. It appears that two different John A Hendersons were born in 1841, but in different places, married different women, had different children, and died in different places. That's pretty much what the DNA says.
There are many people in the world whose histories have been irretrievably lost. All we can do is try and save the histories we can. Good luck.
Emma McBeath, This sight is linked up with FamilySearch. The first tree I put up was from FamilySearch. Then somebody disconnected it, then I thought I had it fixed. Then I come back and it is detached again. I submitted my DNA and I matched John Alexander, William Henderson and his father James Henderson 3rd of Fordell, and his wife Jean Murray.. I need to learn how to match DNA to find my ancestors. I got a lot iout of it before it was disconnected.
For the record, whoever severed my family tree severed half of my DNA connections. The ties to Baron William IV, Sir James Henderson 3rd Baron of Fordell and Jean Murray his wife (with 27 kids) I am not going to whine about it because I kind of expected it. I got a professional to back me up. This mess is too hard to decipher through and I am no genealogist to begin with. I have a question though, what does anybody care what's on my tree? It's MY TREE, and MY Family. I understand the concept of the group but very few in the group are helpful to me.
Hi there! Please remember WikiTree is a one-world-tree which means we all share the same profiles for the same ancestors. Volunteer genealogists are constantly improving genealogy based on new sources which sometimes means detaching incorrect ancestors. As long as you have good primary sources on the profiles you're working on, the proof of relationship should be solid. Emma
I think I figured out who shot my parents Emma. That is really why I even did a DNA test. I am going to tell homicide what ive found. First I need to tighten up the screws. Finding out who killed them and why means the world to me. Thanks for your help. I coulld use a little more help re attaching my tree. i would appreciate it Emma.
For the record, I wanted to say that if someone is going to disconnect my tree they should at least replace it with something. You shouldn't be able to mess up someone's tree without making it right. I've had resistance from some since I've been on here and I understand why. My parents have an ongoing double homicide investigation that will never close. I've read the citations and what got changed, I know who and why. Thank GOD for the screenshot. Thanks to the ones that try to make things right.
I think I am going to have to start over. Something just isn't right. I have a pretty good idea what it is. It is just awful how screwed up these records are. This is why my parents were murdered. Money and land in this family. I don't care about the money. I want to know who I am and possibly who killed them. Some Henderson out there somewhere in the past profited from their deaths. Now they are using my identity. I think every one of these records need to be purged. I want to thank this site though. It hasn't given me all of the answers but it has helped.
I am going to keep going over and over this. Something just isn't right. I'll bet you anything it is where the white and black ancestor meet and have offspring. I know thats what it is. I should not have to make up new profiles for these people. Us black people really get screwed when it comes to our ancestors. And people wonder why we're so confrontational all the time. Gets old people people thinking they are better than you are.
I got ahold of a game changer. It's called the Henderson Family Chronicles. This should straighten out some of this mess. I am never going to quit until I figure this out. I am getting close but a couple of things just don't fit. I owe this to my parents.
This line of Hendersons that am in is very thin. William, Judge, Robert and my dad were all only children. And when you do find something the profiles don't have any information. Everything is unknown. It's extremely difficult because it seems like nobody wants to help me. In fact it's the opposite. When I get close the shell game starts all over again. I know its about all of this land and mineral interest, More money than you can ever imagine.
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand this Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
I see there is some confusion to what is going on with these other James Hendersons. I keep telling everybody that my DNA results were stolen. My parents were murdered when I was a baby and now it has come back to haunt me. If you don't believe it then get on any of of the DNA sites and run my whole name. You will see that there are considerable assets that are in my name. These other guys are trying to use my identity to get this money. I am the Henderson male that was being sought . I am a decendant of Stuart kings. Notice that there are more James Henry Hendersons than there are just plain old James Hendersons. You know that's not right. There are some on here who are complicit with what they are doing to me. I won't mention any names right now but everything I have told you is the truth. I have had trouble with Family Search and Family tree about this. Maybe you guys don't care anything about me but I really wish you would push back against lies, for historys sake.
I know i complain a lot but it is really frustrating when you look at a profile with unknown unknown unknown on it. Then you look back and they can trace all the way back to antiquity. The further you go back the easier it gets! Shouldnt it be the other way around? They used to write on hemp paper with quill pens. We got computers that do everything but make breakfast but everything is unknown. I cant find anything on my grandfathers father and thats only 3 generations. But ive went all the way back to King James IV with no problem. Ridiculous
Profiles get orphaned either because the member who created them left WikiTree, created profiles that weren't in their own family, so orphaned them to let others adopt them, or they had more profiles than they could handle. The hope is that when profiles get orphaned, interested family members will pick them up. Emma
Everything I am looking for is in the "Orphaned" profiles. It seems to me like the profiles with the best info are orphaned. The ones at the forfront have too much unknown. Lots of good bios there.
Anonymous: I have NOT submitted your DNA anywhere - only you can do that.
Judging from your comment on my 3*great grandfather's profile Henderson-2324 you seem to be basing this baseless accusation on the declaration that your DNA haplogroup is the same as one of Archibald's descendants who has yDNA tested, R1b1b2 in older terminology.
MANY MANY people will share this haplogroup which has many different sub branches these days.
Archibald's descendants, or at least those from his son James are down under what is now known as R-BY19859, which yFull estimates branched off from the "father" haplogroup, which further back up the chain of ancestors, is https://yfull.com/tree/R-S7361/ where those sharing this haplogroup are estimated to share a common ancestor from around 1100 years ago.
If you have not already tested your yDNA at FamilyTreeDNA I strongly suggest that you do so, and join the Henderson surname DNA project there.
yDNA is the DNA you have inherited from your direct paternal line down the generations, more or less unchanged for generations unlike the autosomal DNA you have tested, which you have from all of your ancestors.
Entry level is y37. Once you have a satisfactory pattern of surname matches, then save up the pennies for the BigY test to get a much more recent haplogroup and be finely positioned on the haplotree of Henderson-kind with your most closer Henderson relations.
PS I checked your GEDMatch number for any matches to any of our many Henderson kits - none showed up in your top 2000 matches.
Hi James, I sent you a message about helping you get started at WikiTree and to address some of your questions., but haven't heard back. Sometimes messages go to spam. I'll resend with the email. I look forward to talk to you! Emma
I saw you asked about the Orphaned profiles. I took them because i like to read and i like to be thorough. I am taking my time clusters and making a map with names and dates of every Henderson in that area. I know thats probably the hard way but..
Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once that has been done, you add any remaining names manually. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
Who keeps screwing around with my profile? I am not trying to keep anything secret because I have nothing to hide. The people doing hiding my profile are in on the fraud! Trying to change history to fit what you want! I am not going to let that happen.
You merged James Henderson 1349 into James Henderson 21525 without giving me the time to check wether they are different people . Which I have now confirmed that they are different. I dont know exactly when he was born but it was at least in the 1700s. So please take more care when merging records.
My name is James Henry Henderson Jr. I have the birth certificate and the DNA to prove it. These online records and all of these merges of profiles are pure fraud. One thing you cannot change or hide from are the things that are in writing. These things I have in my possession. Take down all of my pics of you want and undo all of the mergers I have shown. This site is pure fraud and I resent the outright disrespect you have shown to myself and my family. You will have to explain this in court. You better take this down to before anybody sees it.
I was thinking, if all of these other guys claiming to be me are me, why don't any of them know who their parents are? If they dont know who their parents are, how could they trace their ancestry back to the Mayflower? You administrators on here know the truth. If the genealogists want to perpetuate a lie then so be it. I will actually adhere to the honor code. No matter how much you try to hide the truth, the truth is on my side.
Thanks for signing the Honor Code! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

Oh dear so sorry James, your profile said Alexander. If you'd like to change it just click the large Green/Yellow tab labelled "edit". When the next page loads edit the box next to "preferred name" (look for the box that is similar to the image that I've attached here). If you prefer to keep your displayed name as is then that's fine too.
Don't be shy to give me a shout if you have any questions.
It looks like you have merged your profile with the profile of a man who lived in Scotland in the 1700s. I think if you remove yourself as father to his son, James Henderson (1761-1840), it should undo most of the damage.
You rejected all of my merges. If you are going to do that you need to take down all of the ones with my pictures on them. That is my information not thiers.
It appears that you have been proposing a lot of impossible merges. For example, you are not the same person who died in 9 Sep 1513 in battle of Flodden, Northumberland, even if you do have the same name. It is important to compare the whole profile before suggesting a merge.
I have another question: You can see the screenshots ive posted correct? I have 20 of them that have all of my info including my pic all the way down to the death date. some say i died in the 1700s, why is that?
Since you are a living person, the privacy settings on your profile block everyone who is not on your trusted list from seeing the photos on your profile. We can only see a tiny copy of your main profile photo.
Well I am going through every single one. I am no genealogist but I've been dealing with iD theft fora long time. I just read one that had my pic and birthday but the death date was 1904! Sloppy. Fake profiles are not very accurate. I can post all of these and prove it. Any genealogist that is worth a crap can see that blindfolded.
Now if you ask me,anybody that gets caught faking someone's identity should not only be expelled from participating but should also be brought up on ID theft charges because that is a crime. Dont you wonder why all these fake profiles? Money. Also you genealogist know full well that one fake profile messes up the whole integrity of a family tree.
This is hilariously pitiful. I know where to find my stuff, its always "unknown" (the story of my life) and my device starts lagging really bad... And its also so convenient every time I run Tudor-4 the site is temporarily out of order. You know you real genealogists should push back against people trying to change history for financial gain.
In looking at the profile on which you posted a comment, there doesn't appear to be anything that indicates he is claiming to be the same person as you. It is entirely possible that someone else named James Henderson has had their DNA tested at Ancestry and is a member of WikiTree. It's actually quite common to have multiple people with the same name. For instance, there are two Deb Hoags and five Deb McGees.
If you would like to have it reviewed by our systems Team, there is a link in the bottom right corner of every profile to make a "privacy takedown request." Go to the profile you are concerned about, click that link, and follow the instructions. This is the page that tells more about that:
No. That is mine. My myheritage account was hacked over 40 times. When I post my DNA results you'll see. I have had id theft issues for years now. I apologize if I offended you maam.. however, I have posted my GEDMATCH number. You'll see that is definitely me.
Absolutely not offended, just trying to help. I see that your profile from last October has been merged with your new one so that you are now connected to the profiles you had created before.
I also saw your note above about your name getting messed up. You can fix that by using the edit tab on your profile, then adjusting the names to what they should be. Just be sure to put the name you want us to call you in the Preferred Name field. That's how I become Debi instead of my legal name. If you leave that field blank, the software thinks that you want to use the name Anonymous.
Your parents each have two profiles right now. Merges have been proposed for them. Please let me know if you want help getting the merges completed.

WHY AM I ON AN UNKNOWN LIST? DO YOU WANT TO SEE MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE? For the record, don't claim my info by default., you have my info. I want me and my family off the unknown list and I want you to take us off of the adoption thing. We are grown, we don't need adopted, we need justice.
I know that i am related to the Hendersons of Fordell Fife Scotland. I have known this for quite some time. I even know a few of them and they confirmed this. You guys are not showing me related to anybody. Someone is blocking me.
Hey I have a few questions and concerns id like for someone to address. I am here only interested in figuring out the truth, which I already have a pretty good grasp on. I wonder if some of your people are interested in the truth? I know for a fact some are not. I can prove it.
How are you today? There is not a death date on your profile. As far as I can tell you are still alive. That sounds like wonderful news to me. I am not sure what you see that gives you the impression on your profile that you are deceased, but if you still see something, please let me know.
