Note

Note: Sometime after the Civil War started, and while Ellen was still a baby, Martha Ellen promised some soldier that she would look out after his wife and baby while he was gone. One cold winter's night the little wife sent for Martha Ellen to help her tend her sick baby. Without hesitation, Martha Ellen left her own small baby with the older children and went to the home of the soldier. Sure enough, the baby had pneumonia. Shortly after, Martha Ellen took the then fatal disease and soon died. What a blow! The family could have stood the loss of any other member, but when the hub of their universe died, they were shattered. By Royce L. Eaves Sr.

Henderson-7345 and Henderson-5533 appear to represent the same person because: James,

Your #5533 and my #7345 are the same person. I have proposed a merger to eliminate duplicate and to be able to add additional information, i.e. her father, children, etc. I had her dob as 1825 and dod as 1860. I have gone with your dates of 1823 and 1860 because the dod fits with William Martin 3rd marriage in 1865 which was more of a marriage of convenience since he needed help with his younger children and he was in the process of moving.
