Joe was born on 25 March 1847 in North Carolina. He was the son of William Lee Henderson and Eleanor Ann Selina (Shelby) Henderson.[1]

Joe died at the age of 38 on 25 October 1885 and was buried in Smith County, Texas, United States of America.[4]
