Biography

Nancy's husband William King is somehow connected to the John King family of Pittsylvania. Nancy's brother Isaac married Nancy King, d/o Elijah King, and the given names of this family are found in the family of Nancy and William. Their first son Elijah was born in Pittsylvania Co, but no William is found among the children of Elijah. Elijah did have a brother William, whose family is untraced.

Nancy and William were among the migrants from the Southside to the Virginia Military District of Ohio. Their first stop in southern Ohio was Highland/Fayette Co., where her brothers Nathan and Isaac settled. They may have been there from the beginning, or they may have arrived with the group that included Nancy's brother Joel and sisters Susannah and Sarah and their families that came after the War of 1812. Sometime after 1820 and before 1830 they moved over a county line to Clinton Co. and settled for good in Clark Twp., where they reared their family.

Their sons were Elijah D., John, Isaac H., and possibly the Wm buried in Akers Cemetery. Four girls unknown.

In 1850 Nancy, age 64, is living with the family of John and Catherine (West) King. In 1860 Nancy, age 76, is living with the family of John and Nancy Walton. Nancy Walton is probably a daughter. See also:
