Margaret H. Treese, 96, Claysburg, passed away Monday at The Village at Morrisons Cove.
She was born in Schellsburg, daughter of the late Reed and Ida (Hiner) Henderson. She married Dr. George G. Treese on July 25, 1945, in Altoona, and he passed away Oct. 26, 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Black and husband, Butch, of Claysburg; her neighbor, "her boy, Phil"; eight grandchildren: Donnie, Drew, Vicki, Denise, Kim, Lori, Jeff and Tana; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepchildren: Anna Close and Donald Treese.
Margie was a 1935 graduate of Greenfield Township High School. She was employed for 10 years at the Clover Farm Market before becoming a full-time homemaker. She attended the Claysburg Church of the Brethren.
Margie was a former Girl Scout leader and a member of Iron Masters Country Club, Flower Club and Bridge Club. She enjoyed golf, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and Pitt Panthers, and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., the Rev. Ronald Bashore officiating. Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Iron Masters Country Club, c/o Donnie Black, P.O. Box 282, Claysburg, PA 16625, to establish a memorial in Margaret's honor.
