Biography
Agnes was born to David and Jane (both of whom were originally Scottish from Dumfrieshire) in Hutton Henry, County Durham in 1867. In the 1871 Census the family lived in Castle Eden where David was a night watchman at a brewery. By 1881 the family had moved to Wingate where David found work as a stoker at a gas works (back breaking work). She met and married Charles in 1886.
