John Abraham Hendricks was an Irish-born American lawyer and soldier. Hendricks was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War. Lt. Colonel Hendricks was killed in the Battle of Pea Ridge.
John was born in 1823. He was the son of William Hendricks and Ann Paul. He passed away in 1862. [1][2]
John A. Hendricks was commissioned as Lieutenant Colonel and enrolled in the 22nd Indiana Infantry on August 15, 1861. [3]
On December 18, 1861, Lt. Colonel Hendricks and the 22nd Regiment captured 1300 prisoners in action at Milford Mound on Blackwater Creek. [4] On March 7, 1862, during the Battle of Pea Ridge, Lieutenant Colonel Hendricks was killed. [3]
Lieutenant Colonel John Abraham Hendricks was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, Madison, Indiana. [2]
