Biography

She was the daughter of Daniel Hendricks and Mary Roland, and is named in papers pertaining to the settlement of her father's estate.[1]

She married Cannon Brown sometime in the 1790s. Their oldest known child was Sarah, born 16 Sep 1798. Cannon Brown's will was proved February 1831 Rowan Co. NC. In September 1831, his estate papers mention a year's provision for widow and family filed by Samuel Van Etten, John Maxwell, Benj. March. It was set aside with a new order to file [this is also present in the loose estates papers in the NC state archives, but is too faint to read].

Cannon and Catherine were buried in a family cemetery south of Mocksville, in Davie County NC. We don't know exactly when Catherine died. There is a marker in the cemetery listing their names and those of their children, but it is modern, not contemporary with their deaths, and some of the information on the marker may not be accurate.
